Presidential hopeful Barack Obama will be hosting a dinner fundraiser tonight with an expected 280 people in attendance. The dinner will be held at the Greystone Estate in Beverly Hills, a Tudor-style mansion once owned by Edward Doheny. The estate was recently featured in the film “There Will Be Blood.” Some notable individuals who are expected to participate include Steven Speilberg and David Geffen, the latter a former Clinton supporter.

Obama campaign officials are expecting a generous influx of cash from the event, with plates running guests $28,500 apiece. Public records will not reflect the extent of the night’s financial success. However, it is projected that the event will raise $8M for the Obama campaign.

Following the dinner, Obama will be attending a reception at the Beverly Wilshire. Performers Barbara Streisand and Ben Harper will be in attendance. An estimated 900 people will be present for the reception, each paying $2,500 a seat.

Obama’s get-together in Beverly Hills is drawing criticism from the McCain camp, who’s questioning whether or not the fundraiser accurately depicts that Obama “sides with the people.” McCain spent Tuesday speaking to Ohio voters.
