At a Wednesday luncheon in Beverly Hills, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association awarded more than $700,000 in grants to twenty five various film schools and non-profits. The luncheon is an annual event that the association holds to honor its officers.
Among attendees were various celebrities as well as individuals representing the barrage of institutions receiving grants.
HFPA president, Jorge Camara, introduced the audience to new and returning association officials.
Camara regarded the grants as an “ongoing commitment” on behalf of the HFPA, whose members consist of foreign journalists covering the U.S. film industry. According to Camara, the association has donated over $7.5M to both film schools and non-profit organizations.
